In a dystopian and overpopulated world where depression is at an all time high. A mysterious and supernatural alleyway appears, seeming to be the solution for those looking for an escape. Follow our four protagonists as they traverse this cruel world and face their own demons and problems. While ultimately trying to put a stop to The Endless Alleyway, saving those who have fallen victim to it, and giving them hope for a better life.So yes, the main premise of the show is about suicide.
What is Alleyway?
Alleyway is a soon to be adult indie animated show that aims to accurately portray what it’s like to struggle with suicide ideation, how others with disabilities and those who have tried to commit suicide are treated, how mental health and suicide is viewed and treated in our world, and other mental health struggles in a kind, human, and empathetic approach while also having fantasy, sci-fi, and dark humor elements to help ease the dark subject matters that will be covered in this show.The main focus of the show will be on its characters, their motivations, their goals, their struggles, and their connections to one and other. Abuse, trauma, dissociation and PTSD will also be covered heavily as it relates to the main theme of the show. Sexual, verbal, emotional, religious, and physical abuse will all be covered in the show. Each issue will be covered with extreme care and will show how the abuse has affected and impacted our characters in the long run, shaping who they are, and learning to deal and cope with it.
Representation Matters!
99% of the cast will be a part of the LGBTQ community in some way. And 50% of the characters identify as trans in some way. In the environment we live in today, trans representation in our media is extremely vital and important. As a trans person myself I want to make up for the lack of or distasteful representation in the media, by showing what it’s truly like to be trans in a world that feels like it is against us. There is one main plot line and several side plot lines that will deal with issues involving gender and sexual identities. If this discomforts you or will affect your enjoyment of the show, all I ask is for you to give it a chance. But if this isn’t possible, please do not make this an issue as I will not be changing my character's identities in any way even if it causes controversy, and spend your time elsewhere. Thank you.
Time to get personal...
As a gay, autistic, trans man (A mouthful I know.) I have unfortunately struggled with abuse, discrimination, and suicidal ideation all of my life. Whenever I look in media, tv-shows, and movies. I can never see myself or relate to other characters unless I give them headcanons I made up myself. I want to change this and help represent as many marginalized groups as I can. I also want to show people what it’s truly like to feel suicidal, like you are at an all time low and the only escape is leaving this world. I want to help people the only way I know how, through my writing and through my stories. Giving neurodivergent and queer people characters they can relate to and feel seen with.I have sunk my heart and soul into this project, the original concept for alleyway I came up with seven years ago, and I have been writing and editing the script for six years. I have worked diligently to make sure the writing for this show is as flawless as I can make it. This project is a major part of my life and I don’t ever plan on giving up on it. I have come too far to give up now!!! So if you would like to follow me on this journey, I would be more than appreciative. In fact it would mean the world to me. Of course, only if you want to. What Exactly is The Endless Alleyway!?
No one is really sure of how The Endless Alleyway came to be or what it is, all we know about it is that it is endless, like the name suggests, and it is made of a fictional substance known as Umberight. Umberight is a very deadly ore commonly found in forests located in America, but is also known to randomly appear in other areas throughout the world. It produces a deadly gas that causes the person in its proximity to slowly rot away, losing functions of their organs, losing their limbs, you get the idea. Almost everyone found in The Alleyway is there of their own volition, people who leave The Endless Alleyway are known as “Rotters” for their rotten smell and appearance, most of them will also need to stitch their limbs back on after exiting The Alleyway. It is unknown how their limbs can function even after rotting off.Okay NOW it's time to introduce the main characters.
Okay…So I might have lied again. You HAVE to know where this is taking place first obviously.
Welcome To Dreed Falls!
Ah yes, the holder of the famous and mysterious Endless Alleyway and the most populated city in the entire world! Having over fifty-two million people (Not including the people in The Endless Alleyway) occupying it’s five districts which are conveniently separated by social classes! Ranging from our biggest, most populated, and poorest district West Clover, all the way up to our richie richies in South Pines. Now this sounds like a lot of people but when comparing it to a whopping 21 billion people populating the earth it isn’t that much.Okay okay we can move on to the main characters now, I’m being serious this time.
Main Character Time!
There are four main characters in Alleyway like the website previously mentioned, each will have their own plot and story, and each story will start off separate but then will slowly mesh together into the main plot. Hope you enjoy my silly little guys!
